About Mrs. Bablak

Originally from Connecticut, I attended Penn State to obtain my bachelors in elementary education. Following graduating, I moved to Virginia to begin my career as a 1st grade teacher at Mary G Porter Traditional School. While I loved the 5 years I spent teaching, I always felt that my true calling involved counseling. During my time at Porter, I studied at Liberty University where I earned my Masters in School Counseling, and then transitioned into the school counseling role at Porter Traditional where I was able to continue building strong relationships with staff, parents and students. Currently, I hold my certificate in school counseling as well as my teaching license in the state of Virginia, and am also a Prince William County Elementary School Social Emotion Learning Lead, where I oversee the grant fund allocation for 15 elementary schools and promote SEL initiatives within their buildings. Currently, I am a school counselor at a wonderful elementary school in Cheshire, CT.

My "Why"

Following in family footsteps, education was always a passion of mine. Due to a car accident as a child, the resilliency of children was always special to me, which led me into school counseling. Grief counseling, as well as resiliency building approaches are both passions in counseling that I hold.
